The Ministry of Trade and Integration has issued a statement regarding the possible relocation of the Wildberries warehouse complex. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to the ministry, no official request has been received from Wildberries regarding the placement of additional warehouse capacity in Kazakhstan.
"If relevant proposals are received, they will be considered in accordance with legal requirements, taking into account the national interests of the Republic of Kazakhstan," the statement said.
The ministry emphasized that any projects by international companies must be implemented on a mutually beneficial basis consistent with the country's national interests. Such projects should create new opportunities for domestic entrepreneurs, attract investment to Kazakhstan's economy, and create new jobs.
"Kazakhstan has high transit and logistics potential. In this regard, the ministry supports investment projects aimed at developing modern warehouse and logistics infrastructure, creating new jobs, and promoting cross-border e-commerce," the ministry said.
The ministry reminded that the processes of transportation, storage, and circulation of goods are regulated by Kazakhstan's current legislation and the legal norms of the Eurasian Economic Union. Therefore, no exceptional conditions or special requirements are provided for individual market participants.
Earlier, RIA Novosti reported that the RWB group, which develops the Wildberries marketplace, had begun searching for available warehouse space in Kazakhstan. According to the publication, an area of 100,000 square meters is being sought. Another source indicated that the market could cover all available warehouses in Kazakhstan.
Recall that last week, Ukrainian drones attacked Wildberries facilities in the Moscow region, St. Petersburg, Krasnodar, Simferopol, Nevinnomyssk, as well as in the Leningrad and Tambov regions. Several people were killed and dozens injured. The Investigative Committee opened criminal cases on the terrorist attack.
