The combined Wildberries and Russ company plans to purchase 478,000 square metres of galvanised metal netting. The material is to be delivered to facilities in eight Russian regions. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
Who organised the tender
The tender was organised by RVB LLC. According to the procurement card, the order was published on 5 August 2026. Bids with a delivery period of more than seven days were not considered.
Purpose of the netting not specified
The documentation does not specify why Wildberries needs such a quantity of netting. A source at an industrial company told The Bell that it could be used to protect warehouses from drones.
“Fencing everything off with a metal wall is still the most popular option, given its fairly high effectiveness and the absence of risks and any regulatory requirements, well, apart from construction ones,” the publication’s interlocutor said.
Volume comparable to 67 football pitches
The netting being purchased could cover about 67 standard football pitches. Metal structures are usually installed at some distance from the facility being protected so that they absorb the drone’s impact.
Tender followed drone attacks
The tender appeared after a series of UAV attacks on Wildberries logistics centres. Several warehouses were seriously damaged or destroyed. At the same time, the company itself has not publicly linked the netting purchase to the drone raids.
