Kazakhstanis employed in temporary or seasonal jobs also have the right to annual paid leave or compensation. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

Seasonal work is recognized as work performed due to climatic or other natural conditions during a certain period — the season, but not exceeding one year. The employment contract must necessarily include a condition on performing seasonal work.

At the same time, according to Yerlan Ismagulov, head of the capital's department of the State Labor Inspection Committee of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of Kazakhstan, temporary or seasonal work does not mean the temporary nature of labor rights.

"The contract must clearly define the labor function, place of work, contract term, start date of work, working hours and rest schedule, terms of remuneration, rights and obligations of the parties, and other mandatory conditions," he emphasized.

In addition, seasonal and temporary workers have the right to timely and full payment of wages, safe working conditions, established working hours and rest, social guarantees, and protection of their labor rights.

"The right to annual paid labor leave is also preserved," the speaker added.

However, upon termination of the employment contract, compensation for unused vacation days must be paid in accordance with Article 96 of the Labor Code.
