Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has again stated his opposition to imposing sanctions on Russia and his support for maintaining friendly relations between Belgrade and Moscow. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
"My policy is not to impose sanctions, and we want to maintain friendly relations with Russia," Vucic said on Sunday during a meeting with residents during a visit to the municipality of Lapovo.
Recall that on March 2, 2022, in an address to the country's citizens, the Serbian president stated that by decision of the National Security Council, the Serbian authorities supported only 4 of the 13 points of the UN resolution condemning Russia's actions in Ukraine. These points do not provide for the imposition of sanctions against Russia or the confiscation of property of Russian companies in the country.
According to him, the crisis in Ukraine has had a significant impact on Serbia, putting enormous pressure on the country in terms of foreign policy.
