Chinese automaker Voyah, after launching the new Passion S electric crossover, decided to prove the reality of its extreme 360-degree loop stunt. The company showed a continuous recording of a successful run, as well as a video in which a camouflaged prototype failed to complete the loop and fell from the tunnel ceiling. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Carnewschina.
We have previously written about how the Voyah Passion S repeated the famous Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG stunt associated with the commercial featuring Michael Schumacher. At that time, the company claimed that the production car independently completed a full circle along the wall and ceiling of a closed tunnel without special effects or technical modifications.
However, after the video was published, doubts arose about its authenticity. Now Voyah has decided to respond to these doubts in an unusual way – by showing a video of a failed attempt.
In the recording, a camouflaged Passion S prototype drives up the tunnel wall but fails to maintain its trajectory. The car slips and falls down. The very possibility of multiple attempts using real vehicles indirectly confirms that this was indeed a physical test, not just computer graphics.
Then Voyah presented a continuous video of successfully completing the 360-degree loop. The company used it as proof that the previously published stunt was not assembled from separate fragments.
At the same time, Voyah officially launched the Passion S in China. The electric FUV is available in three trim levels priced from 229,900 to 279,900 yuan, which at the time of writing corresponds to 15.8–19.2 million tenge.
The car is offered with rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. In the AWD version, two electric motors produce a combined 475 kW (637 hp), and batteries with a capacity of 81 or 98 kWh provide a range of up to 740 km on the CLTC cycle.
Additionally, the Passion S features an 800-volt architecture with 5C charging, LiDAR, and the Huawei Qiankun ADS 5.0 driver assistance system.
