"In recent days, many of us barely slept, loading dogs and kennels, looking for transport, people and places to house them. But we managed," the kennel said.

Volunteers promised that together with animal rights activists they will monitor the situation: visiting, checking living conditions and making sure the animals have everything they need.

The shelter added that transporting the dogs is only the first stage. Ahead lie counting the animals, vaccination, sterilization, arranging the site, feeding and finding homes.

"Huge thanks to everyone who helped: came, loaded, transported, fed, looked for vehicles and territories, took dogs home, and supported us financially and with information," the stray animal care center said.

Recall that about 90 stray dogs were left abandoned in the steppe near Almaty due to the death of the founder of the Tvardovsky Dom shelter. Volunteer Arsen Kabdenov reported that several days earlier he had taken food to the Dog House shelter and there met its owner, Vladimir. He told Kabdenov that the kennel was founded in 2015 and named after his late son. Over the years they had to move many times and faced a large number of problems. Later the volunteer was informed of the founder's death. The dogs are currently in the steppe, without proper fencing and necessary conditions.

Later, information emerged that the founder of the Dog House animal shelter, Vladimir Teplyakov, had been killed. The rumors were confirmed by police, who opened a criminal case. Social media also reported that the man had received several gunshot wounds. However, police did not confirm this information. The investigation is under the special control of the leadership of the Almaty Region Police Department.

Earlier, Kursiv wrote that the akimat of the Zhambyl district of the Almaty region intervened in the situation around the 90 dogs of the Dog House shelter. The authorities asked Kazakhstanis to help find homes for the animals.
