Police officers in East Kazakhstan region helped a Chinese tourist who was afraid to stay alone overnight during a cycling trip across Kazakhstan and called 102 for assistance. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the traveler was heading to Lake Markakol. In the evening, he arrived in Serebryansk, Altai district, and set up a tent to spend the night. However, the unfamiliar surroundings and late hour caused him anxiety, after which he decided to call the police.

The head of the Serebryansk police department, Talgat Zabirov, and the head of the public security department, Azamat Gali, arrived at the scene. They clarified the circumstances and decided not to leave the foreign guest to sleep outside.

The police officers invited the tourist to their home, provided him with conditions for rest, and treated him to national dishes. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the cyclist highly appreciated the assistance and Kazakh hospitality.

The next day, the traveler continued his journey towards Lake Markakol.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs noted that this case is an example of how police work is not limited to ensuring public order and safety, but also includes helping people in difficult situations.

Earlier, Kursiv wrote about why tourists are increasingly choosing independent travel.
