A forest fire that broke out on August 13 in the East Kazakhstan region has been localized. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

According to the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, aviation, ground special equipment and more than 200 people were involved in fighting the fire.

"In the 114th quarter of the Asu-Bulak state institution, the fire has been localized. Currently, specialists continue to water individual areas and carry out work to completely eliminate the fire," the Ministry of Ecology reported.

However, the department clarified that in the 113th quarter, work on localization and complete extinguishing of the fire is still ongoing.

In total, 224 people, 43 pieces of equipment and four helicopters were involved in extinguishing. 100 water drops were made from the air.

The situation remains under the control of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Kazakhstan, the department noted.

Earlier, Kursiv wrote that a natural fire continues to be extinguished in the Karaganda region.

The day before, the Ministry of Ecology reported 50 forest fires in a week.
