The East Kazakhstan region is eliminating the consequences of severe weather. Thunderstorms, squally winds, heavy rains, and hail in places led to local power outages, falling trees, and damage to power lines. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
According to the regional akimat, the progress of restoration work was under the personal control of the head of the region, Nurymbet Saktaganov.
Ust-Kamenogorsk suffered the most from the bad weather. To eliminate the consequences, 270 people and 41 units of specialized equipment were involved here.
Communal and emergency services restored power supply, removed fallen trees from streets and courtyards, pumped out rainwater, and cleaned storm sewers.
The effects of the disaster also affected the Glubokovsky district, where strong winds damaged power lines in several settlements at once. Emergency crews promptly began repairs, and most of the damage was eliminated in the shortest possible time.
Restoration work was also organized in the Ulansky district.
"Work to eliminate the consequences of the raging weather was organized in an operational mode and was under the constant personal control of the head of the region," the akimat noted.
