Kazakhstani Viktor Druzin won his second bronze medal at the Junior World Artistic Swimming Championships in Hungary. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
On the final day of competition, he finished third in the men's solo free routine. Druzin scored 257.1 points for his performance. Gold went to Russian Zakhar Trofimov with 267.0 points, while Spanish swimmer Eneko Sanchez Aguilar took silver with 264.4.
The Kazakhstani athlete climbed the podium for the second time at this world championship. On August 12, Druzin placed third in the technical solo. The top three was the same then: Trofimov won, and Sanchez Aguilar was second.
Druzin's bronze became the fourth medal for the national team at the Junior World Championships 2026. The day before, Yasmina Islamova and Aldiyar Ramazanov took second place in the mixed duet free routine. Kazakhstan also earned another silver in the team acrobatic routine.
The Junior (U19) World Championships are taking place in Budapest, Hungary, from August 12 to 16, with 300 athletes from 35 countries participating. A total of 11 medal sets will be awarded. Kazakhstan is represented by 12 athletes.
