Vietnam has launched a pilot Pre-arrival Information (PAI) system to simplify entry procedures for foreign nationals. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to the Vietnamese side, this system allows foreign nationals to obtain necessary information online before traveling to Vietnam. As a result, border control time is reduced and passenger flow at airports is optimized.
"The PAI system is currently operating in pilot mode at Tan Son Nhat International Airport and will be introduced at Noi Bai, Da Nang, Cam Ranh, and Phu Quoc international airports in the future. It is also planned to be gradually implemented at other border checkpoints," the ministry said.
It should be noted that the PAI system is not a mandatory requirement for those entering Vietnam and does not perform visa processing functions. The system only provides advance information about the trip.
Vietnamese authorities recommend that foreign nationals register only through the official portal – prearrival.immigration.gov.vn and beware of fake internet resources.
