Hungary is expected to lift its veto on the technical stage of EU accession talks for Ukraine and Moldova this week. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

This was reported by the Financial Times, citing sources.

Previously, former Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban actively used the veto right during voting in the European Union to block the allocation of funds to Ukraine and the start of direct negotiations on Ukraine's membership in the union.

"Hungary stated that this week it will ease its veto on further progress in the EU accession talks between Ukraine and Moldova," the publication reported.

According to the newspaper, Hungarian Prime Minister Peter Magyar instructed diplomats not to block letters sent to Ukraine and Moldova regarding the possible start of the next two negotiation stages concerning the internal market and competitiveness policy.

As reported by the Financial Times, political support for opening the clusters will depend on the Verkhovna Rada adopting a law on expanding education for national minorities on October 12.
