Hungary's parliament has elected 73-year-old András Baku as the new president of the Republic of Hungary in a secret ballot. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Nepszava.
140 parliamentarians voted for his candidacy, 6 voted against. There were no abstentions.
The new president of Hungary will take office on August 19.
Until then, the duties of the president will be performed by the Speaker of Parliament, Ágnes Forsthoffer.
