The death toll from the devastating earthquake in Venezuela has reached 4,118. This was announced by Jorge Rodríguez, President of the National Assembly (Parliament) of the Bolivarian Republic, on his Telegram channel. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

According to his data, 16,740 people were injured, and 17,907 lost their homes. 190 buildings were completely destroyed, and 856 suffered significant damage.

"During search and rescue operations, 6,462 people were rescued, and 29,966 people received treatment in hospitals and medical facilities. Assistance was provided to 86,794 families, and 9,766 tons of food were delivered to the victims," Rodríguez said.

Earlier, Kursiv reported that the death toll from the earthquake in Venezuela had exceeded 3,300.

Recall that at the end of June 2026, two powerful earthquakes with magnitudes of 7.2 and 7.5 struck the country. Following this, Venezuelan authorities declared a state of emergency.

Disaster relief efforts continue. International organizations and neighboring countries are providing humanitarian aid to Venezuela. Rescuers are still searching for people trapped under the rubble. Authorities are setting up temporary shelters in affected areas and providing essential supplies to the population.

According to experts, given the scale of the disaster, Venezuela's weak infrastructure, and economic crisis, recovery may take a long time. The government has appealed for foreign assistance and is developing reconstruction plans.
