Two powerful earthquakes in Venezuela have killed 188 people, injured 1,520, left 157 missing, and over 200 remain trapped under collapsed buildings. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing VTV.

According to National Assembly Speaker Jorge Rodríguez, rescuers continue to clear debris, and the injured have been taken to hospitals where they are receiving necessary care.

Eight hospitals, 20 shopping centers, and 68 infrastructure facilities were damaged. A total of 250 buildings were damaged or completely destroyed. Some medical facilities were evacuated. A state of emergency has been declared in the country.

Earlier, Kursiv reported that two devastating earthquakes occurred in Venezuela the previous day. There were two series of tremors with magnitudes of 7.2 and 7.5. They were recorded 16 kilometers from the city of Morón and 24 kilometers from San Felipe. In Caracas, residential buildings and other structures collapsed. The death toll was 160 people.
