A tractor that usually works in the field has driven around the Red Bull Ring, the Austrian circuit that hosts Formula 1 rounds. The Finnish Valtra T Series sixth generation completed a lap in 3 minutes 36.4 seconds and accelerated to 87 km/h on the straight. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
The manufacturer claimed a lap record for tractors, and the speed was confirmed by Red Bull Racing representatives.
Technical specifications of the tractor
In the published video, the tractor navigates the corners of a racing circuit designed for much faster machines. Under the hood is a 7.5-liter six-cylinder AGCO Power CORE75 engine with 245 hp. In its most powerful version, torque reaches 1184 Nm.
Special attention to tires
Particular attention is due to the tires. Instead of the usual large agricultural tread, Nokian tires are visible in the video. The company participated in the run together with Valtra. However, the manufacturer did not specify exactly how much the tires influenced the result.
Production model and preparation
In its standard version, the tractor's maximum speed is limited to 57 km/h. A production machine was used for the run at the Red Bull Ring, but the manufacturer did not disclose details of its preparation and setup.
Valtra stated that the lap time was 3 minutes 36.4 seconds and became the fastest for a tractor at the Red Bull Ring. At the same time, this is a record claimed by the manufacturer, not a comparison with published results of other tractors.
Earlier, Kursiv Auto reported on an extreme form of motorsport where women more often win.
