At the US Open tennis tournament in New York, Aryna Sabalenka and Jessica Pegula overcame tough challenges in the third round to reach the fourth. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Associated Press.

Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka defeated Kamilla Rakhimova of Uzbekistan 6-3, 6-4. The top seed faced strong resistance in the second set, which lasted 54 minutes — a minute longer than her entire previous match.

"She played incredible tennis," Sabalenka said. "She really pushed me so hard in the second set and I love when they bring their best tennis because they really push me to improve."

American Jessica Pegula also faced difficulties against Canada's Leylah Fernandez but ultimately secured victory to advance. Both players kept alive the chances of a third straight meeting on the final weekend.

Additionally, the Williams sisters are scheduled to play a doubles match in the evening session. Full results and the tournament schedule are available from Associated Press.
