During the CSTO's Interaction-2026 exercise, the armed forces of the organization's member states practiced an operation to liberate a settlement seized by an opposing force. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
Attack from several directions
Military units attacked from several directions, using firearms and FPV drones. They seized the opposing force's positions in the settlement and consolidated on that territory.
Pursuing the retreating opposing force
After that, service members carried out a drill to pursue the retreating opposing force and prevent it from re-establishing a foothold.
Exercise held at Chebarkul range
The exercise is taking place at the Chebarkul range in Russia. It involves the armed forces of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan.
About 2,000 service members involved
In total, around 2,000 service members and 350 units of military and special equipment have been involved in the exercise. Various unmanned aerial vehicles and robotic equipment were widely used during the drills.
Experience of modern conflicts taken into account
Service members are practicing various military operations taking into account the experience of modern armed conflicts. Several CSTO exercises had previously been reported as starting.
