The National Security Committee (NSC) department, under the coordination of the city prosecutor's office, has completed its investigation into a criminal case against an organized criminal group involved in the illegal issuance of driver's licenses. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to the Astana city prosecutor's office, the organized criminal group included employees of the Specialized Public Service Center and intermediaries.
The investigation established that the accomplices divided roles among themselves: intermediaries stood near the center's building and told those taking the theoretical exam the correct answers to questions, while center employees entered knowingly false information about the passing of the practical exam into the information database.
In 2025, 74 people illegally obtained driver's licenses through this fraudulent scheme.
The suspects' actions are qualified under Article 262 of the Criminal Code (Creating and leading an organized group, criminal organization, as well as participation in them) and Article 206 (Unlawful destruction or modification of information).
Restrictive measures in the form of detention were applied to 6 people, a written undertaking not to leave and proper behavior to 3 people, and house arrest to 1 person.
The 74 illegally obtained driver's licenses have been invalidated.
The criminal case has been sent to court for consideration on the merits.
