An attempt to secretly pass a package into a colony ended in failure for three residents of Ust-Kamenogorsk. They were detained in the middle of the night by National Guard officers. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
According to police, the men tried at night to throw a package containing a presumably prohibited substance over the facility's fence. They were noticed by a National Guard sentry, who raised the alarm.
When the men realized they had been discovered, they threw the tape-wrapped package onto the control and trace strip and tried to escape. However, servicemen and facility staff detained all three.
Inside the package, a green plant-based substance with a characteristic odor was found. It was handed over to the competent authorities. An investigation into the incident is underway.
