The reconstruction of railway stations at Zhanarka, Kyzylzhar and Karazhal has been completed in the Ulytau region. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
At all three facilities, the roofs were updated, exterior and interior finishing was carried out, and water supply, sewerage, heating and power supply systems were modernized. Platforms were also reconstructed, adjacent areas were landscaped, and new emergency exits were equipped.
Modern durable and fire-safe materials of Kazakhstani production were used for finishing.
Zhanarka station building
The station building at Zhanarka, built in 1971, was reconstructed preserving the existing building with an area of 315.1 square meters. The station is passed daily by 12 passenger trains connecting it with Astana, Almaty, Karaganda, Zhezkazgan, Pavlodar, Kyzylorda, Mangystau and Beyneu.
Kyzylzhar station building
The station building at Kyzylzhar, built in 2012, was also preserved. Its area is 103.8 square meters. The station is served daily by 10 passenger trains on the same routes.
Karazhal station building
The station building at Karazhal, built in 1958, after reconstruction is a building with an area of 395.94 square meters. The station is served by two passenger trains providing communication with Karaganda.
The Ministry of Transport noted that the reconstruction will improve the level of service, create more comfortable conditions for passengers and improve transport services for residents and guests of the Ulytau region.
Earlier, Kursiv reported that the reconstruction of five railway stations was completed in the Akmola region - Erementau, Derzhavinskaya, Ulenty, Erkinshilik and Zhaltyr. At three stations, old buildings were completely demolished and new complexes were built, and at two others, existing stations were updated. At all facilities, engineering networks were modernized, adjacent territories were landscaped, new equipment was installed, and at some stations ramps were equipped for passengers with limited mobility.
