In the Ulytau region, the director of an enterprise was detained for bribery. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to the Anti-Corruption Service, the suspect attempted to give a bribe of 5 million tenge to an official of the local executive body. He intended to resolve the issue of leasing a land plot.
The suspect was detained while handing over the cash. Currently, a pre-trial investigation is underway against him under Article 367 of the Criminal Code (giving a bribe).
The Anti-Corruption Service confirmed the bribery fact. If the suspect's guilt is proven during the investigation, he faces imprisonment from 5 to 10 years.
This is another case in the fight against corruption in the Ulytau region. The agency is conducting systematic work to suppress such offenses.
