The National Archives in London has discovered a rare 1776 printing of the U.S. Declaration of Independence. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Associated Press.

The document was printed in July 1776 in Exeter. It was found among the papers of an American ship captured by the British. Michael Scurr, who has been volunteering at Britain's National Archives for the last 11 years, spending his Thursday mornings painstakingly cataloging documents, identified the copy.

This copy is one of the earliest printings of the Declaration of Independence. It holds great significance for U.S. history. The document is currently held at The National Archives in London.
