The UK Ministry of Defence announced on Thursday the opening of a business centre in Kyiv for British small and medium-sized companies working in the military industry. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

"The first specialised business centre for British industrial enterprises has been opened in Ukraine. It was created as a result of close cooperation between the National Armaments Director (NAD), industrial partners and representatives of the financial sector," the defence ministry's statement said.

The National Armaments Director is part of the UK Ministry of Defence and is responsible for managing the country's armed forces arsenal.

According to the ministry, the centre will help small and medium-sized enterprises establish contacts with Ukrainian partners, obtain information about the local situation, and engage in joint developments, production and investment projects.

Russia believes that arms supplies to Ukraine hinder a settlement of the conflict, directly draw NATO countries into the conflict and that they are "playing with fire."

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has stated that any cargo with weapons for Ukraine will become a legitimate target for Russia.
