The UK, France, and Germany plan to jointly produce long-range strike weapons and air defense systems for Ukraine, according to a joint statement following talks in London. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, and Volodymyr Zelenskyy held talks at Downing Street. "The heads of state emphasized the need to increase the production of interceptor missiles, as well as jointly develop missile defense systems and long-range weapons," the statement released by Downing Street said.
The politicians also discussed expanding long-term industrial cooperation with Ukraine to strengthen Europe's defense capabilities. "They stressed that Europe, as a consistent supporter of Ukraine, must play a key role in any settlement process," the statement said.
Furthermore, these countries continue to support the idea of deploying a Western military contingent on Ukrainian territory as part of conflict resolution.
