This year, National Dombra Day falls on July 5. The Ministry of Culture and Information announced that more than 2,000 cultural events will be held in Kazakhstan for National Dombra Day. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

The cultural program includes concerts, festivals, competitions for kyuishi and dombra players, exhibitions, scientific conferences, special projects in museums and libraries, creative meetings, and educational events. According to the ministry, more than 2,000 events are planned nationwide. Of these, 20 are at the republican level and 98 at the regional level. The remaining events will take place in district centers and rural settlements, as well as in local cultural organizations. It is expected that more than 2 million people will attend the festive events.

National Dombra Day is celebrated annually on the first Sunday of July. Established in 2018 on the initiative of the Head of State, this holiday aims to strengthen national identity, increase young people's interest in traditional art, and preserve the continuity of generations.

Festive events will be held in Astana, Almaty, Shymkent, and all regions. Concerts, festivals, and mass cultural projects will be organized with the participation of professional creative groups, national instrument orchestras, and young performers.

On July 5, a festive concert dedicated to National Dombra Day will take place at the Amphitheatre in Astana. In Almaty, festive programs will be held at several open venues. The Kurmangazy Kazakh National Folk Instrument Orchestra will perform at Arbat, the Alatau Traditional Art Theater, and the Central Park. The State Dance Ensemble "Saltanat" will present a concert program "Kumbirle, dombyra, Zhasai ber, Astana". In Shymkent, a festive concert will be held at the Shim City Park.

The international program of the holiday is also extensive this year. National Dombra Day will also be celebrated in Beijing, the capital of China. On the banks of the Liangma River, the Dombra Party event organized by the Cultural Center of Kazakhstan will introduce foreign audiences to traditional Kazakh art.

Key republican-level events include the "Kui kudireti" kyuishi competition in Turkestan region, the III Republican "Syr tolqyny" kyuishi competition in Kyzylorda region, the "Asemkonyr" Republican dombra players competition dedicated to the 165th anniversary of Dina Nurpeisova, and the V International "Quzyljar Music Fest" festival in North Kazakhstan region.
