Chairman of the National Bank Timur Suleimenov commented on the fine imposed on his deputy Aliya Moldabekova. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

Last year, following an audit by the Supreme Audit Chamber, an order was issued to return bonuses paid to some National Bank employees. However, Deputy Chairman Aliya Moldabekova did not comply with this requirement within the established timeframe. Consequently, a court decision imposed a fine on her.

According to Timur Suleimenov, in 2020-2023, some duties of department employees were not documented in official documents, but they performed the necessary work. "For that, they received bonuses of 150 thousand and slightly higher. However, since these duties were not specified in job descriptions, the Audit Chamber regarded it as a violation of internal rules. We have put all internal documents in order. But we did not manage to complete everything before the deadline for fulfilling the order. Therefore, a fine was imposed in accordance with the law," Suleimenov said at a briefing in Astana.

He noted that the court decision has not yet entered into force. After the decision takes effect, Aliya Moldabekova will pay the fine and the matter will be closed. Suleimenov also noted that the employees who received the bonuses gradually returned the funds. "The money has been returned. We returned it gradually," said the head of the National Bank.
