Kazakhstan's National Bank has issued a collector coin called "AQYQ" as part of the "Magic Symbols" series. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

"AQYQ is a semi-precious stone. The artistic design of the coin clearly shows the signature of Kazakh jewelry art. The refined granulation technique, the pattern on the reverse side and the carnelian insert harmonize with each other. In the upper part of the coin, a special cord is provided to allow it to be worn as a necklace," the statement said.

The coin is made of 925 sterling silver with a carnelian stone insert. Its mass is 20 grams, diameter — 33 mm, denomination — 1,000 tenge, with a mintage of 5,000 pieces.

"The coin's design reflects the traditions of Kazakh jewelry art. It uses the granulation technique, patterns on the outer side and the technique of inserting carnelian stone. In the upper part of the coin there is a hole for a chain or cord, which allows it to be worn as a decoration," the National Bank said.

Collector coins are accepted at their face value for all types of payments throughout the republic, and are also subject to accounting, transfer, exchange and conversion to bank accounts at all banks in the country.
