Residents of Kostanay, Almaty, and Astana have been warned of possible air pollution on July 12. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv.

According to Kazhydromet, conditions in these cities may lead to the accumulation of pollutants in the surface layer of the atmosphere. Unfavorable meteorological conditions arise from a combination of short-term weather factors—calm winds, light wind, fog, and temperature inversion. This can cause harmful substances to accumulate near the ground and degrade air quality.

During such periods, residents are advised to reduce time spent outdoors, especially near highways and other pollution sources. People with chronic lung diseases, cardiovascular conditions, and allergies are recommended to carry necessary medications when going outside.

Earlier, Kursiv reported that meteorologists issued a storm warning across all regions of Kazakhstan, primarily due to abnormal heat and local rain with thunderstorms.
