The government has allocated over 10.4 billion tenge from its reserve for the implementation of the KazSat-3R space communication system project. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The project is aimed at developing the national satellite communication system and telecommunications. The allocated funds will be used to create a new satellite communication system KazSat-3R, which will replace the current KazSat-3 satellite. The planned service life of KazSat-3 expires in 2029. The new satellite will ensure uninterrupted operation of the national satellite communication system.
The implementation of the project will ensure stable operation of satellite communication networks and television and radio broadcasting systems, and expand internet access in sparsely populated and remote areas. Additionally, the level of information security will increase, and Kazakhstan's technological sovereignty will be strengthened.
Currently, the capabilities of the KazSat space communication system are used by major communication operators and government agencies. The system provides television and radio broadcasting, data transmission, mobile communications, and internet services. The system is connected to 19 communication operators, and more than 2 million subscribers use television broadcasting services.
Thus, the creation of the KazSat-3R communication satellite and the implementation of new projects in the field of remote sensing of the Earth will contribute to the further development of Kazakhstan's space industry and the growth of its technological potential.
