The government has determined the purchase price of grain for 2026. Depending on the quality indicators of 3rd class wheat, it has been set at 92,000 to 115,000 tenge per tonne. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of National Economy Serik Zhumangarin at a meeting with farmers from the southern regions of Kostanay region in Arkalyk, the government reported.
«Taking into account market conditions, as well as proposals from market participants, the government has determined the purchase price of grain for 2026. In particular, it is planned to set the price of 3rd class wheat, depending on quality indicators, from 92,000 to 115,000 tenge. Thus, the price remains at last year's level,» said Serik Zhumangarin.
The purchase price of the Food Corporation serves as a benchmark for the market. Financial support for farmers is provided through forward and direct grain purchase mechanisms. This allows agricultural producers to cover production costs and prepare for the next season.
Serik Zhumangarin also announced that the program to reimburse state expenses for grain exporters will be extended for the 2026-2027 marketing year.
«In previous years, subsidizing the transport costs of grain shippers allowed expanding the geography of supplies of Kazakh grain,» the statement said.
In addition to traditional markets, Kazakh wheat was purchased for the first time by Belgium, Poland, Portugal, Norway, the United Kingdom, as well as North African countries such as Morocco, Algeria and Egypt.
