Social media has been circulating information that new rules imposing fines for parking cars near residential buildings are being introduced. The Ministry of Industry and Construction has stated that this information is false. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

The ministry said that the draft order "On approval of Model Rules for the improvement of territories of cities and settlements" does not provide for new bans on parking cars near houses.

"The new rules do not contain norms prohibiting citizens from leaving their cars in specially designated parking spaces. The changes are of a clarifying nature and relate not to the prohibition of using or placing vehicles in designated places, but to the storage and long-term storage of property in common areas," the ministry said.

The ministry also reported that this document is aimed at bringing the regulatory framework in line with the Construction Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan and essentially re-approves the current improvement standards. Many of them were already included in previously existing rules.

Moreover, these rules do not regulate traffic issues, organization of parking lots and parking spaces, or the use of vehicles. Therefore, the circulating claims about new restrictions on car parking do not correspond to the content of the document.
