Kazakhstan launched flu vaccination on September 15. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
Vaccination is being carried out as part of preparations for the autumn-winter epidemic season of 2026-2027. First of all, vaccination covers people at high risk of infection or complications from the disease.
Who is eligible for free vaccination
Vaccination is carried out within the guaranteed volume of medical care. According to the resolution of the chief state sanitary doctor, the following categories are subject to preventive vaccination:
- 01medical workers;
- 02people registered at dispensaries for chronic diseases;
- 03young children;
- 04schoolchildren;
- 05pregnant women;
- 06elderly people;
- 07people living in closed-type institutions;
- 08people in special social service institutions.
Vaccination is carried out after obtaining informed consent. The resolution also provides for vaccination of people at high risk of infection based on epidemiological indications.

How polyclinics prepared for the ARVI and flu season
Filter rooms and emergency care rooms for patients with ARVI symptoms operate in the capital's polyclinics. Here you can undergo a physical examination and receive the necessary help.
Working hours:
- 01on weekdays — from 08:00 to 20:00;
- 02on weekends and holidays — from 08:00 to 18:00.
In addition, mobile teams providing home care operate in primary health care organizations. Special attention is paid to pregnant women and children under one year old with ARVI, flu symptoms and possible complications.
Hospitals are also preparing for a possible increase in the disease. The deployment of additional infectious disease beds is envisaged, a stock of medicines has been formed, and monitoring of bed fund occupancy is being carried out.
What should those not in the risk group do
The Committee for Sanitary and Epidemiological Control of the Ministry of Health told Sputnik Kazakhstan that citizens not belonging to the risk group can get flu vaccination on a paid basis.

What to do at the first signs of illness
In case of fever, cough, sore throat, runny nose or general weakness, it is recommended to promptly visit the polyclinic at your place of residence or a filter room.
