Turkey is ready to organize a new round of talks on Ukraine in Istanbul in a short time, provided the parties confirm their willingness to return to the negotiating table. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
A diplomatic source told RIA Novosti: "Talks in Istanbul can be organized in a short time. For this, it is enough for the parties to signal their readiness to sit down at the negotiating table."
Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on July 25, during a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Omsk, expressed the opinion that the Istanbul agreements formula could be used to resolve the conflict in Ukraine.
Russian President Vladimir Putin, at a meeting with government members, said that Russia is ready to conduct peace negotiations with Ukraine based on the agreements reached in Istanbul in 2022.
Russia and Ukraine held three rounds of direct talks in Istanbul in 2025. As a result of the meetings, the parties exchanged prisoners. They also exchanged draft memorandums on conflict resolution.
