A mineral fertilizer plant worth $600 million will be built in the Turkistan region. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

The project will be implemented by KazAzot company. The plant's capacity will be 1 million tons of fertilizers per year. Construction is planned to start in 2027 and be completed in 2030.

The plant will be located in the Keles district of the Turkistan region. The new enterprise will create 1,500 jobs. Products will be mainly oriented for export, including to Central Asian and European markets.

Modern technologies will be used during construction, which will allow meeting environmental requirements. The total cost of the project is $600 million, including $200 million of equity and $400 million of borrowed funds.

According to Nurlan Zhakupov, General Director of KazAzot, the launch of the plant will reduce Kazakhstan's dependence on fertilizer imports and increase export potential.
