A fire broke out in the exterior cladding of a 12-storey residential building in Turkestan. Rescuers evacuated 63 people, including 12 children. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
Fire report
The report of a fire in the building on 9th Street was received by the 112 emergency line. Firefighters arriving at the scene found open burning of the building's exterior cladding from the eighth to the 11th floor.
Response and evacuation
Emergency Ministry personnel deployed fire hoses via an aerial ladder and began extinguishing the flames. At the same time, rescuers organised the evacuation of residents. People were led out of the building via stairwells.
Outcome
The fire was fully extinguished. There are no casualties. The cause of the fire is being established.
"In the event of a fire or other emergency, it is necessary to immediately report it by calling 112," the Emergency Ministry reminded.
