A fire has been extinguished at a cotton processing plant in the Maktaaral district of the Turkestan region. Four cotton bales with a total mass of 170 tonnes caught fire, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
The enterprise is located along the Zhetysai — Atakent highway. The fire covered cotton in an open area of 242 square meters. In total, the plant contained 700 tonnes of cotton.
«The fire was completely liquidated by the prompt and coordinated actions of the Ministry of Emergency Situations rescuers,» the department said.
There are no casualties or injuries. The cause of the fire is being established.
Earlier, «Kursiv» reported that a fire at an illegal landfill in the Almaty region had been completely extinguished.
