A fire broke out at a gas station in Shaulder village, Otyrar district, Turkistan region. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
Incident details
According to preliminary data, the fire started during the unloading of fuel and lubricants. A fuel tanker with a capacity of 10 tons caught fire, after which the flames spread to the cladding of the administrative building. The fire area covered 70 square meters.
Threat to tanks
Additionally, the fire affected the area near four fuel tanks, each with a capacity of 25 tons. This posed a risk of further spread.
Firefighting efforts
Emergency services were dispatched to the scene. Employees of Koksaray JSC and Shilik JSC also took part in extinguishing the fire. The fire was extinguished, preventing further spread. No casualties were reported.
Expert advice
Earlier, Kursiv reported that in hot weather, gasoline evaporates more actively, increasing the risk of fire at gas stations if safety rules are violated. Experts recommended turning off the engine before refueling, avoiding open flames and vapes near the fuel tank, and being mindful of static electricity risks.
