A car of the Saratov-Almaty passenger train derailed in the Turkistan region. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

JSC Passenger Transportation stated that the incident was caused by a technical malfunction. "On June 16 at 12:49, on the Shieli-Turkistan section, the wheelset of car No. 7/8 of the Saratov-Almaty passenger train derailed due to a technical malfunction," the statement said.

According to the company, passengers were offered medical assistance but declined. A recovery train was promptly dispatched to the scene to eliminate the consequences and restore service, and an additional train was assigned to transport passengers. "The boarding and dispatch of passengers were organized promptly," the company said.
