Two men went hiking in Turkistan region and got stuck. One of them died, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
Rescuers from the Ministry of Emergency Situations conducted a rescue operation at an altitude of 2,400 meters above sea level. The incident occurred at the Shүңkіldek pass at an altitude of 2,400 meters above sea level on the territory of the Aksu-Zhabagly State Nature Reserve in the Tolebi district.
"The man said that his friend fell from a cliff and died. According to him, his own health deteriorated sharply while in the mountains, and he could not descend on his own. Forces and means of the Ministry of Emergency Situations were immediately dispatched to the scene," the ministry said.
A helicopter of Kazaviaspas JSC was also involved in the rescue operation. "With the help of a helicopter, a man born in 1993 was evacuated from a hard-to-reach mountainous area. After being delivered to a safe place, he was examined by doctors of the emergency medical team and provided with the necessary medical assistance. Hospitalization was not required," the ministry said.
The body of a man born in 1978 was also brought down from the mountain. According to preliminary data, he fell from a cliff and died.
