A cotton oil processing plant is being built in Igilik village, part of the Maktaaral rural district in the Turkistan region. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to the regional akimat's press service, construction and installation works of the new enterprise are 80 percent complete. As planned, the enterprise is scheduled to be launched in the third quarter of 2026. The total cost of the project is 1 billion tenge.
Once the plant reaches full capacity, it will be able to process up to 50,000 tons of cotton oil per year. As a result of production, cotton oil will be offered to the market.
This primarily allows not to sell cotton products grown in the district as raw materials, but to create additional economic value through deep processing, the statement says.
The project plans to create 36 new jobs. Thus, the new production will contribute to permanent employment of local residents, development of entrepreneurship and increasing the district's production potential, the akimat says.
