In Turkistan region, a train driver prevented a tragedy by applying emergency brakes when a five-year-old child wandered onto the tracks. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

According to Kazakhstan Railways, on June 20, 2026, at 15:08, on the Turkistan – Shieli section near Shornak station, the driver of passenger train No. 7/8 Almaty-2 – Saratov avoided hitting a five-year-old child who was on the tracks.

The locomotive crew applied emergency braking at a speed of 70 km/h, preventing a tragic incident. As a result, the train was delayed by 4 minutes. The company reported that the railway section is equipped with fencing.

The child was in the danger zone without adult supervision. Thanks to the professionalism and vigilance of the locomotive crew, a tragedy was averted.
