A mass fish die-off is occurring along the Badam River in Tolebi District, Turkistan Region. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

News of the incident spread on social media. Users claim that industrial waste from the "Balmuzdak" enterprise was dumped into the Badam River.

"Despite repeated reports and publications about the mass fish kill, no concrete measures have been taken so far by the prosecutor's office, the sanitary-epidemiological service, or the akimat," a social media user said.

If ice cream waste caused the mass fish kill, users question how safe the enterprise's products are for human life.

The akimat of Tolebi District commented on the situation.

"The akimat of Tolebi District has sent a letter to the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources and other responsible agencies to conduct an unscheduled inspection, collect wastewater samples, and take appropriate measures. In addition, representatives of fishery entities plan to file a lawsuit in court to recover damages," the akimat of Tolebi District stated.
