A major green energy project is planned in the Turkistan region. Sairam biogas and fertilizers factory intends to build a biogas plant and launch production of integrated fertilizers. The investment volume is estimated at approximately 25 billion tenge. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
The project was discussed by Deputy Akim of Turkistan region Kanat Kaiypbek and the company's General Director Almaz Tulenov. During the meeting, the parties reviewed the prospects for implementing the project and issues of providing the future enterprise with engineering infrastructure.
According to the akimat, the plant is planned to be located in the Mankent rural district of Sairam district. The enterprise area will be 17.29 hectares. Investors expect to create 100 jobs.
After launch, the enterprise will be able to generate up to 4.95 MW of electricity annually. The project is planned to be implemented in stages in 2027-2029. It is currently included in the Unified Industrialization Map.
Kaiypbek noted that regional authorities are ready to support effective investment projects. According to him, the new plant could contribute to industrial development, production of environmentally friendly energy, and creation of new jobs.
According to Adata, the owner of Sairam biogas and fertilizers factory is Almaz Tulenov. He also owns Greenagro, which operated under the name Kusto Energy until February 2026.
In 2019, Kusto Energy, according to media reports, was positioned as the energy division of Kusto Group and planned to build a biogas plant in the Burabay resort area of Akmola region. However, the official website of Kusto Group contains no information about any connection with Kusto Energy or Greenagro.
The founder and majority owner of Kusto Group is entrepreneur Erkin Tatishev. He ranks 24th in Forbes' list of the richest Kazakhs with a fortune of $435 million. His partner Kanat Kopbayev is in 55th place with $191 million.
