About 12,000 tonnes of pressed hay and sheds burned in the Turkestan region, the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The major fire occurred in the village of Kozhatogay, which belongs to the city of Arys. Emergency Situations Ministry personnel who arrived at the scene completely extinguished the fire.
Forces from Emergency Situations Ministry units, forestry workers, the Ministry of Defense and local executive bodies were mobilized to extinguish the fire, according to the statement.
There were no casualties. The cause of the fire is currently being established.
