US President's special envoy Steve Witkoff and the American leader's son-in-law Jared Kushner have arrived in Moscow. The plane carrying the American representatives landed at Vnukovo airport. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

At the airport, Witkoff and Kushner were met by Kirill Dmitriev, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), who also serves as the Russian president's special representative for investment and economic cooperation with foreign countries.

Purpose of the visit

The purpose of the American negotiators' visit has not been officially specified. However, earlier US President Donald Trump told journalists why he sent US President's special envoy Steve Witkoff and negotiator Jared Kushner to Moscow and Kyiv. According to the American leader, they are carrying a proposal to end the war.

Russian side's reaction

Vladimir Putin previously called Witkoff and Kushner welcome guests in Russia and noted that Moscow "works with them with pleasure."

The Kremlin said it would report on contacts between the Russian side and American representatives after they take place.
