US President Donald Trump has ordered the preparation of a package of documents to end the war between Russia and Ukraine. Washington also intends to resume trilateral negotiations involving Moscow, Kyiv, and Washington. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

The content of the new package has not yet been disclosed. The date of a possible trilateral meeting is also unknown.

Statements by US Special Envoys

US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff said that negotiations between Russia, Ukraine, and the US could take place in the near future. According to him, in Moscow the American delegation was presented with new ideas for a settlement, which were then discussed with the Ukrainian side.

Witkoff believes that during the meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, significant progress was achieved.

"We heard new ideas. You heard Zelensky talk about trilateral talks, which we hope will be announced soon. In Moscow, we discussed many other important and reasonable ideas that we brought here to Kyiv," he said.

According to Axios, Witkoff and Kushner hope to achieve a breakthrough in negotiations before winter sets in.

Ukraine's Position

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky told the American delegation that the country is preparing to continue hostilities during the winter period.

However, as Financial Times writes, Kyiv considers it unlikely that the war will end before the cold weather arrives.

"It seems the war will continue into winter," Zelensky said.

During the talks, the parties also discussed support for Ukraine during the winter amid possible intensified Russian strikes on energy infrastructure.

The Fate of Donbas

One of the key topics was the future of Donbas. The parties did not disclose details of the discussion on the territorial issue.

Witkoff and Kushner met twice with Zelensky and his advisers. Then representatives of the UK, France, and Germany joined the discussion.

An Axios source said the meetings "went well." The American side intends to continue work on the updated peace proposal.

Witkoff called the talks substantive and important.

"We are very encouraged and ready to continue working as long as needed," he said.

Kushner emphasized that the US seeks not only to stop the current hostilities but also to create conditions that would prevent a new war.

"It is important not just to find a way to end the current war, but also to create conditions and agreements for a long-term and sustainable peace," Kushner said.

Zelensky said that Kyiv has prepared its own proposals. Among Ukraine's main demands, he named reliable security guarantees and the conclusion of an agreement that would exclude the possibility of a new attack.

First Official Visit

For Witkoff and Kushner, this was their first official visit to Ukraine as American negotiators. The day before, they spent more than three hours at a meeting with Putin in the Kremlin.

The Russian side called the conversation constructive and useful. The White House said that the meeting participants discussed next steps, which will be presented in the coming weeks.

At the same time, no specific agreements have been announced following the talks in Moscow and Kyiv.
