US President Donald Trump stated on the social network Truth Social that the Triumphal Arch under construction in Washington will be converted into a military complex. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
According to the head of state, this decision was made at the urgent request of the US Armed Forces to ensure national security.
Plans to erect this structure in the US capital have existed since the time of the Civil War. Initially, Trump announced the construction of the world's largest triumphal arch on the side of the Arlington Bridge opposite the Abraham Lincoln Memorial.
Now the structure will be transformed into a first-class military base. The complex will be fully adapted for the placement, storage, and rapid deployment of a large number of unmanned aerial vehicles (drones). Sniper positions are planned to be set up on the roof of the complex.
Earlier, Kursiv wrote that Trump said he would soon announce an important decision regarding the conflict with Iran.
