US President Donald Trump said Russia is ready to urgently supply 300,000 tonnes of diesel fuel to the US and global markets, another 500,000 tonnes in November, and then 1 million tonnes. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

Earlier, Trump said he had a phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin and described the talks as "very successful".

"During the conversation with Putin, it was agreed that Russia will immediately supply more than 300,000 tonnes of diesel fuel to the US and global markets, another 500,000 tonnes in November, and then immediately 1 million tonnes," Trump wrote on his Truth Social page.

Earlier, the US president said that the rise in fuel prices was caused not by the situation in the Strait of Hormuz, but by Kyiv's strikes on oil refineries in Russia and the closure of oil refineries in a number of US states.

The US Treasury Department said that on Donald Trump's instructions it will urgently issue a license allowing diesel fuel supplies from Russia.
