US President Donald Trump said the war with Iran will end immediately after the midterm elections to the US Congress, scheduled for November 3, 2026. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
Trump's statement
According to Trump, the war will end immediately after the elections because Iran "cannot hold on any longer." He noted that Iran is currently in a difficult economic situation and "can no longer hold on."
"I think the war will end right after the elections, because they can't hold on any longer," he said.
Iran's attempt to influence elections
The president believes that Tehran is deliberately prolonging the conflict in a desperate attempt to influence the outcome of the American elections. The Iranian side, in his words, is counting on the passage of "weak people" into Congress who would leave the country alone and allow it to obtain nuclear weapons.
Possibility of negotiations
Washington is currently not seeking an agreement with the Islamic Republic, although Trump did not rule out the possibility of negotiations in the future. He stressed that any future agreements must include far more points than the previous nuclear deal.
Oil price forecast
Trump expects that immediately after the end of the war and stabilization of the situation, oil prices will go down. The day before, the price of Brent oil again exceeded $100 per barrel due to another round of escalation.

The war between the US and Iran has been ongoing with varying intensity since late February 2026. Last summer, the parties announced a temporary truce, but in July the strikes resumed.
